Short Story: The Essence of Teaching

Short Story: "The Essence of Teaching"

My mind keeps wandering around for new motivations and morals. While seeking for all this, I came across with a beautiful learning and thought to pen down this learning for my readers also. We all must agree that learning is a continuous process but the way we learn something, it always leave a memory on our mind and heart.

I have always been privilege to have a good teachers throughout of my life and this short story is a sincere dedication to all the teachers around the world, who have turned many stones into the diamonds. So, the story goes right here-

Short Story: The Essence of Teaching

“Do you remember me?” A young man asked from an old man who was sitting alone on a bench.

The old man replied -"Sorry! I am bad with my memory these days. What do you do in life?"

The young man answers: “Well, I am a teacher and you have inspired me to choose this profession.”

The curious old man asked the young man what inspired him to become a teacher. And the young man tells him the following story:

One day, a friend of mine came with a nice new watch in our classroom, and I took it out from his pocket.

Shortly my friend noticed his missing watch and immediately complained to our teacher, who were you. You addressed the class ‘This student's watch has stolen during my lecture today. Whoever stole it, I request you to please return it.’ But I didn't give it back.

You closed the door and told us all to stand up and form a circle with our closed eyes, since you were going to search our pockets one by one until the watch was found.

Short Story: The Essence of Teaching

You went from pocket to pocket, and when you went through my pocket, you found the watch and took it. Still you kept searching everyone's pockets, and when you were done you said ‘open your eyes. We have the watch.’You never mentioned the name after the whole episode.

That day you saved my dignity among the all students. I couldn't say even thank you because of my shameful behavior but i received your message clearly. So, today when i have chosen a great path of learning, i want to say Thank you for my whole heart!

"Thank you very much to make me understood what a real educator needs to do."

After listening the whole story, professor remembered the whole incidence and laughed loudly. He said to the young man- "Oh! was it that you? Sorry I didn't remember you, because I also closed my eyes while searching the stolen watch."

Short Story: The Essence of Teaching

The young man was surprised to know and asked the reason. Professor replied "Because if to correct someone´s mistake, you have to humiliate him or her, you don't know how to teach.” The young man has got a new essence of learning today.

Moral of the story:

There is always a learner and mentor side within all of us. Many of times, we behave differently being in a role of mentor and learner. Everyone learns differently and uniquely in its own way. When life give you a chance to learn something new from any source, adapt it and don´t  forget to pay gratitude. Also being in a role of mentor, choose to be humble, justified and patient with others and never forget the journey of your learning. After all, we are the sharpers of this society who are converting many pebbles into the diamonds in some way!

Why the Universe Favors Some People

The Secret Reason the Universe Favors Some People Over Others In recent property sales I’ve observed, it’s fascinating how some people, even with limited financial resources, manage to secure a house, while others who seem more eligible or financially prepared fall short. The difference isn’t always about money—it’s about mindset, confidence, and how you present yourself. Those who succeed often approach the process with clarity, preparation, and a quiet certainty that they belong in the deal. Timing, communication, and personal connection with the seller or agent also play a huge role. The real lesson? In competitive markets, belief in yourself and thoughtful action can sometimes outweigh raw financial strength. We’re venturing into the intersection of psychology, personal belief, and the “universe” or life outcomes . Let’s break this down carefully. 1. Self-Belief and Deservingness Often, people don’t get what they want because, deep down, they don’t believe they deserve it . This is...

The Art of Helping Without Holding On

Helping Without Holding On Helping others as much as we can feels like a way to bring balance to life — to spread fairness, kindness, and positivity. We offer guidance, share insights, and sometimes even lend a helping hand when someone is facing a problem. Some people take that guidance to heart and come back stronger. Others don’t follow through. They lean on your support repeatedly, without applying what you shared. The truth is, help is only truly powerful when we give it and then allow the person to walk their own path.   This article is for everyone who takes the time to help others, whether family or friends, and often feels disappointed when the outcome doesn’t match their expectations. You offer your guidance, share your insights, or lend a helping hand, yet the results don’t always reflect the effort, care, or wisdom you put in. It can feel frustrating, even discouraging. But there’s a deeper truth behind why this happens: Help is most meaningful when we give it full...

A Millionaire Mindset - The Seven Expensive Habits

A Millionaire Mindset: It Starts Before the Money Maybe you’ve had this moment: you’re scrolling on your phone, you see yet another “self-made millionaire” story, and a small voice in your head whispers, “Why not me?” You’re not lazy. You work hard. But something still feels… stuck.  That “something” is usually not your job, not your degree, not your background.  It’s your mindset —the way you think about money, time, and yourself. 1. Play of the Long Game Millionaires think in years and decades, not days and weeks. Most people ask: “What can I get right now ?” Millionaire mindset asks: “What can I build that will keep paying me later ?” That’s why they: Prefer assets over shiny toys (Investments, skills, Businesses over random gadgets or Brand trands) Are you okay with being “underestimated” today to be free tomorrow Reinvest profits instead of increasing lifestyle too fast Before buying something, ask: “Will this still matter or give me value one year from now?”...
