Building a Business in Germany: A True Test of Patience and Strength

As an entrepreneur, I often come across people who carry something special — A vision. An idea to build something unique. A desire to be independent.A mindset that refuses to settle.

These are the kind of conversations I value the most.

We sit, we share ideas, we plan — not just for business, but for something bigger. A space where people genuinely want to see others grow, succeed, and win. Because real success feels better when it’s shared.

On a very special request from a close friend and colleague, I’m dedicating this blog to all the visionaries out there —Those who have already made their mark in Germany…And those who are still on the journey, figuring things out step by step. If you’re one of them, this is for you. I truly believe that the words you’re about to read will not just reflect my experience, but will support you, motivate you, and maybe even bring a little more clarity to your own journey.

Building a Business in Germany: A True Test of Patience and Strength

Starting a business sounds exciting, right? You imagine building something of your own, being independent, and turning your ideas into reality. And yes — that part is real. But if you decide to start a business in Germany, there’s something else waiting for you first… A journey that will test you in ways you didn’t expect.

It Starts With Motivation…Like most people, I began with a simple idea. Nothing too complicated — just something I believed in. I had motivation, energy, and that feeling of “let’s just do it.”And honestly, that’s the best place to start.

But very quickly, I realized something important: In Germany, starting a business is not just about your idea. It’s about how strong you are mentally. Because before you even begin building your business…you have to go through the system.

Then Comes the Reality: Paperwork & Processes. The first real step? Paperwork. And not just a little. A lot. Forms, documents, registrations — and most of them are written in a level of German that’s not exactly beginner-friendly.

Even if you speak German, this is different. This is official German. Legal German. The kind where you read the same sentence multiple times and still feel unsure. At this stage, many people feel overwhelmed. And honestly? That’s completely normal.

Patience Becomes the Daily Routine. Once you submit things, you expect progress. But in Germany, progress doesn’t always come quickly. You wait for appointments. You wait for approvals. You wait for the next step.

Sometimes it feels like nothing is happening. And this is where most people struggle. Because we’re used to fast results. Instant feedback. Quick wins. But here, you learn something very different: Patience is not optional — it’s required.

The Language Challenge You Don’t See Coming. Another thing that surprises many people is the language barrier. It’s not just about speaking German in daily life. It’s about understanding--Contracts, official letters, legal terms

And sometimes, one misunderstanding can slow everything down. So you adapt. You translate. You ask questions, and slowly, you improve.

The Hardest Part: Staying Focused on Yourself. Now let’s talk about the part no one really prepares you for. The hardest part isn’t the paperwork. It isn’t the waiting. It isn’t even the language. It’s protecting your mindset.

Because while you’re working on your goals, not everyone around you will understand your journey. Some people will doubt you. Some will question your decisions. And some… may quietly feel uncomfortable seeing you move forward and be successful. You might notice it in every small way. Because the truth is, not everyone is meant to understand your path.

But what many people forget is this: Once you’ve made it through, something changes. You become resilient. You become unshakable. Others might look at you and see the result, but they didn’t live the process. They didn’t feel the pressure, the doubt, the waiting, the growth. And that’s why, in the end…What they think won’t make a difference to you anymore.

Growth Happens Quietly. At some point, something changes. You stop worrying about what others think. You stop explaining yourself all the time. You stop looking for approval. Instead, you focus.

You become calmer. Stronger. More patient and without even realizing it…You grow. Yes, you’re building a business. But at the same time, you’re building something even more valuable-Your mindset.

This journey teaches you resilience when things feel slow, patience when nothing moves, and confidence when things are unclear, strength when support is limited. And these are things no shortcut can give you.

So, if you are starting — or thinking about starting — a business in Germany, here’s something I want you to remember: It’s not supposed to be easy. And that’s exactly why it’s worth it. Because if you can go through this process…if you can stay patient, focused, and motivated…then you’re not just building a business. You’re becoming someone who can handle challenges anywhere in the world. And once you reach that point…You’re not easy to break anymore.

If you’re on this journey right now, remember this: This discovery will test you in many ways, but it will also transform you into a stronger, better version of yourself. Not everything is meant to go through the fire. But gold has to, and maybe… that’s exactly what you’re becoming.

Making the Leap: Switching from Job to Business in Germany

Making the Leap:  Switching from Job to Business in Germany Making the leap from a stable job to running your own business in Germany is exciting — and a little daunting. Beyond the new freedom and responsibility, there are practical, legal, and financial changes that can surprise even the most prepared founders.  A few years ago, I made the big leap — I left my full-time job and started my own business in Germany.  Since then, I’ve not only learned a lot through my own journey but have also had the privilege of supporting many individuals as they launched their own startups. One thing I always tell my clients is this: discipline is the main thing that drives success .  Yes, strategy, networking, and creativity matter — but without consistent daily effort, it’s easy to get distracted or overwhelmed. Discipline keeps you moving forward, even when things are uncertain or slow. In my experience, the entrepreneurs who stick to their routines, prioritize their goals, a...

From Paying Rent to Building Roots: The Erlangen Family Dream

Why Families in Erlangen Should Buy a Home Instead of Paying High  As I closed the deal on another house, I came across a fascinating client journey. This client had been living in Erlangen for the past 13 years and finally decided it was time to buy a property. His experiences, struggles, and learnings inspired me to share why owning a piece of the place you’ve called home for years can be so meaningful. PC: Kathi If you’ve ever spent a sunny afternoon strolling through the Schlossgarten , enjoyed ice cream by the Regnitz , or watched your kids play under the chestnut trees of Bürgermeistersteg , you know — Erlangen isn’t just a city, it’s a feeling. It’s that special mix of Bavarian charm and modern innovation that makes people fall in love and want to stay forever . But for many families, rising rents make that dream harder to hold onto. So instead of pouring more money into rent, maybe it’s time to think differently — to build something lasting right here in the city you alr...

Why the Universe Favors Some People

The Secret Reason the Universe Favors Some People Over Others In recent property sales I’ve observed, it’s fascinating how some people, even with limited financial resources, manage to secure a house, while others who seem more eligible or financially prepared fall short. The difference isn’t always about money—it’s about mindset, confidence, and how you present yourself. Those who succeed often approach the process with clarity, preparation, and a quiet certainty that they belong in the deal. Timing, communication, and personal connection with the seller or agent also play a huge role. The real lesson? In competitive markets, belief in yourself and thoughtful action can sometimes outweigh raw financial strength. We’re venturing into the intersection of psychology, personal belief, and the “universe” or life outcomes . Let’s break this down carefully. 1. Self-Belief and Deservingness Often, people don’t get what they want because, deep down, they don’t believe they deserve it . This is...
