Easy Snack Recipe: Hara Bhara Kebab

Hara bhara Kebab is well-known for its goodness of health , crispy bite and smooth texture. The bright green color of the kababs comes from the spinach and green peas which is mixed along with mashed boiled potatoes.

Hara Bhara Kebab is a very easy to make at home. This simple and easy recipe is also popular for its easier digestibility & health benefits. They make perfect starters for parties and can be paired up well with an evening tea or coffee.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups Spinach Leaves
  • 1/4 cup Coriander Leaves , chopped
  • 1 Potato (Aloo) , boiled
  • 1 inch Ginger , grated
  • 1 cup Green peas, slightly fried
  • 4 Green Chillies , finely chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon Dry Mango Powder
  • 2-3 tablespoon Gram flour 
  • Cooking Oil , to shallow fry
  • Chaat Masala Powder , to taste
  • Salt , to taste

Method

  • To begin  with making these Hara Bhara Kebab green patties, blanch the spinach in enough water and drain. Let it cool.
  • In a blender put blanched spinach, coriander leaves, green chillies, ginger, cooked peas  together and blend them to a smooth paste.
  • Mash the boiled potatoes in a bowl and add the green paste, salt, dry mango powder, Gram flour. Now mix well to combine.
  • Divide them into equal parts and make the patties in disc-shaped. You may also use s little water to wet your hands. it helps to shape the kebab with ease.
  • Heat a frying pan or tawa, pour oil and place the round shaped kabab. Cook them on medium heat on one side. You may also deep fry the kebabs.

  • Once the bottom of the kebab is golden brown in color, flip them and cook them the other side the same way. 
  • Once done remove the Hara Bhara Kebab onto a plate. Sprinkle chaat masala and little yogurt- pudina chutney on them and serve hot. 
  • Serve these  Hara Bhara Kebab Recipe as an evening snack with pudina chutney, onions and Hot Tea.
